DACA News: We Stand Behind Opportunity and Privacy for Dreamers

The Trump administration has announced that it will reverse the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy and indicated that it is up to Congress to replace the program.

College Futures Foundation strongly disagrees with the decision to roll back this just, principled, and sound policy, which protects undocumented students—“Dreamers” who came to the U.S. as children—from deportation.

The Foundation is committed to the California dream of college opportunity for all our young people, regardless of immigration status. Hundreds of thousands of Dreamers are contributing to our state’s economy, communities, and future. Rolling back DACA will have tragic consequences for the country, the state of California, our schools and institutions of higher learning, and our young people.

We stand behind the efforts of grantees and partners to assist Dreamers during this difficult time, and will adhere to the California Attorney General’s guidelines to protect student privacy as well as opportunity.
