Rebuilding the California Dream

Rebuilding the California Dream is grounded in a simple truth: postsecondary education must be reimagined to better serve today’s learners.

This series will explore how education can better meet today’s learners where they are—and what it will take to ensure learning leads to real value, measured by economic mobility and the ability to thrive.

We believe progress requires both improving and evolving our public systems and advancing new, more flexible models designed for the realities of work and life today. From innovations within institutions to emerging approaches that give learners more ownership over their learning, this series reflects a future where more pathways create more value for more learners in more places. It will seek to challenge outdated definitions and assumptions about when, where, how learning happens and for whom, and lifts up evolving learning models that open doors to real opportunity.
