Working Learners Are Critical to Claiming California’s Golden Ticket
To build California’s future, we can’t leave working learners behind. Working learners—adults 25+ balancing jobs, caregiving, and education—are central to whether postsecondary delivers real opportunity.
New findings from “The Golden Ticket” report, developed by Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, shows that when these learners can access and complete credentials—and those pathways lead to upward mobility—individuals, families, and communities move forward.
That’s what drives economic growth at scale. Equitable attainment isn’t just an education goal. It’s an economic imperative.
