T.E.A. with College Futures featuring Maria Anguiano
Welcome to T.E.A. with College Futures, where we bring together the voices of partners to elevate the practice of equity in action. In each feature, you’ll see how leaders are working to redefine postsecondary value, champion learner-centered solutions, and reimagine systems so that every underserved Californian can achieve greater economic mobility.
In this episode of Talking Equity in Action, College Futures Chief Program & Strategy Officer Elizabeth González sits down with our Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Maria Anguiano, to discuss the ideas behind her new report, Designing the Future of Learning: Three Spheres of Postsecondary Innovation.
Drawing on conversations with hundreds of leaders across the country, Maria shares why she set out to create shared language for innovation, where innovation is happening across each of the three spheres and why progress in one depends on progress in the others. Elizabeth reflects on how partnering with Maria has challenged and expanded her thinking over the past year. Together, they discuss how their respective families’ educational journeys continue to shape the way they think about this work, and why creating space for nuanced conversations is essential, even when they don’t lead us to the same answers or solutions.
