Grantee Perception Report (2011)

Our grantees are vital partners in our efforts to help students who are low-income and underrepresented in higher education attain a college degree. The success of College Futures depends on these grantee partnerships, and we are committed to soliciting their feedback in our efforts to improve the way we work.

As part of this effort, College Futures Foundation (then known as College Access Foundation of California) engaged the Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP) in 2011 to survey our grantees and produce our first Grantee Perception Report™ (GPR).  The report provides critical feedback on a variety of important issues including grantee satisfaction, the impact of Foundation requirements, our impact in the field, and the value of the assistance we offer beyond our grant support.  The GPR also gives us a valuable benchmark alongside some of our peers in philanthropy.

The 2011, the GPR gave us a great deal to be proud of, including positive marks for our relationships with grantees, the helpfulness of our processes, and our impact on the field.  It also provided us with thoughtful insights that spurred us to increase the non-monetary assistance we offer and reduce the operational burdens associated with our scholarship grants.

We are grateful to all of our grantees who participated in this important process. Their experiences and perceptions continue to inform and shape our work. If you have any questions or comments about the report or our Foundation’s efforts to learn from it, please contact us.
